Definition of Classical Natural Medicine By the term Classical Natural Medicine the Society means the application of natural substances and environmental factors as well as natural processes and living conditions in form of therapy. Examples are medicinal plants, several nutritional systems and periods of therapeutic fasting, natural sources and climatic conditions, warmth and cold as well as various forms of physical activity and massage. Some processes can be partly reproduced through technical manipulation (e.g. hydro- and thermotherapy and apparative heliotherapy amongst others). Following a modern development possibilities can now also be considered for a mental and psychological influence. Leading examples are basic psychagogics, body oriented psychotherapy and various artistic therapies. These are intended to lead to emotional order and to a healthy psychosomatic state within the organism. They are likewise a part of the ordotherapy. This therapy is designed to care for the emotional state and a healthy relationship between mind and soma.
